2:1. Ah, betapa Tuhan menyelubungi puteri Sion dengan awan dalam murka-Nya! Keagungan Israel dilemparkan-Nya dari langit ke bumi. Tak diingat-Nya akan tumpuan kaki-Nya tatkala Ia murka. |
| 2:2 The Lord [0136] hath swallowed up [01104] (8765) all the habitations [04999] of Jacob [03290], and hath not pitied [02550] (8804): he hath thrown down [02040] (8804) in his wrath [05678] the strong holds [04013] of the daughter [01323] of Judah [03063]; he hath brought {them} down [05060] (8689) to the ground [0776]: he hath polluted [02490] (8765) the kingdom [04467] and the princes [08269] thereof. |
2:2 Tanpa belas kasihan Tuhan memusnahkan segala ladang Yakub. Ia menghancurkan dalam amarah-Nya benteng-benteng puteri Yehuda. Ia mencampakkan ke bumi dan mencemarkan kerajaan dan pemimpin-pemimpinnya. |
| 2:3 He hath cut off [01438] (8804) in {his} fierce [02750] anger [0639] all the horn [07161] of Israel [03478]: he hath drawn [07725] (8689) back [0268] his right hand [03225] from before [06440] the enemy [0341] (8802), and he burned [01197] (8799) against Jacob [03290] like a flaming [03852] fire [0784], {which} devoureth [0398] (8804) round about [05439]. |
2:3 Dalam murka yang menyala-nyala Ia mematahkan segala tanduk Israel, menarik kembali tangan kanan-Nya pada waktu si seteru mendekat, membakar Yakub laksana api yang menyala-nyala, yang menjilat ke sekeliling. |

2:4 Ia membidikkan panah-Nya seperti seorang seteru dengan mengacungkan tangan kanan-Nya seperti seorang lawan; membunuh segala yang menyenangkan mata dalam kemah puteri Sion, memuntahkan geram-Nya seperti api. |
| 2:5 The Lord [0136] was as an enemy [0341] (8802): he hath swallowed up [01104] (8765) Israel [03478], he hath swallowed up [01104] (8765) all her palaces [0759]: he hath destroyed [07843] (8765) his strong holds [04013], and hath increased [07235] (8686) in the daughter [01323] of Judah [03063] mourning [08386] and lamentation [0592]. |
2:5 Tuhan menjadi seperti seorang seteru; Ia menghancurkan Israel, meremukkan segala purinya, mempuingkan benteng-bentengnya, memperbanyak susah dan kesah pada puteri Yehuda. |
| 2:6 And he hath violently taken away [02554] (8799) his tabernacle [07900], as {if it were of} a garden [01588]: he hath destroyed [07843] (8765) his places of the assembly [04150]: the LORD [03068] hath caused the solemn feasts [04150] and sabbaths [07676] to be forgotten [07911] (8765) in Zion [06726], and hath despised [05006] (8799) in the indignation [02195] of his anger [0639] the king [04428] and the priest [03548]. |
2:6 Ia melanda kemah-Nya seperti kebun, menghancurkan tempat pertemuan-Nya. Di Sion TUHAN menjadikan orang lupa akan perayaan dan sabat, dan menolak dalam kegeraman murka-Nya raja dan imam. |
| 2:7 The Lord [0136] hath cast off [02186] (8804) his altar [04196], he hath abhorred [05010] (8765) his sanctuary [04720], he hath given up [05462] (8689) into the hand [03027] of the enemy [0341] (8802) the walls [02346] of her palaces [0759]; they have made [05414] (8804) a noise [06963] in the house [01004] of the LORD [03068], as in the day [03117] of a solemn feast [04150]. |
2:7 Tuhan membuang mezbah-Nya, meninggalkan tempat kudus-Nya, menyerahkan ke dalam tangan seteru tembok puri-purinya. Teriakan ramai mereka dalam Bait Allah seperti keramaian pada hari perayaan jemaah. |
| 2:8 The LORD [03068] hath purposed [02803] (8804) to destroy [07843] (8687) the wall [02346] of the daughter [01323] of Zion [06726]: he hath stretched out [05186] (8804) a line [06957], he hath not withdrawn [07725] (8689) his hand [03027] from destroying [01104] (8763): therefore he made the rampart [02426] and the wall [02346] to lament [056] (8686); they languished [0535] (8797) together [03162]. |
2:8 TUHAN telah memutuskan untuk mempuingkan tembok puteri Sion. Ia mengukur semuanya dengan tali pengukur, Ia tak menahan tangan-Nya untuk menghancurkannya. Ia menjadikan berkabung tembok luar dan tembok dalam, mereka merana semua. |
| 2:9 Her gates [08179] are sunk [02883] (8804) into the ground [0776]; he hath destroyed [006] (8765) and broken [07665] (8765) her bars [01280]: her king [04428] and her princes [08269] {are} among the Gentiles [01471]: the law [08451] {is} no {more}; her prophets [05030] also find [04672] (8804) no vision [02377] from the LORD [03068]. |
2:9 Terbenam gapura-gapuranya di dalam tanah; TUHAN menghancurkan dan meluluhkan palang-palang pintunya. Rajanya dan pemimpin-pemimpinnya berada di antara bangsa-bangsa asing. Tak ada petunjuk dari TUHAN, bahkan nabi-nabi tidak menerima lagi wahyu dari pada-Nya. |

2:10. Duduklah tertegun di tanah para tua-tua puteri Sion; mereka menabur abu di atas kepala, dan mengenakan kain kabung. Dara-dara Yerusalem menundukkan kepalanya ke tanah. |

2:11 Mataku kusam dengan air mata, remuk redam hatiku; hancur habis hatiku karena keruntuhan puteri bangsaku, sebab jatuh pingsan kanak-kanak dan bayi di lapangan-lapangan kota. |

2:12 Kepada ibunya mereka bertanya: "Mana roti dan anggur?", sedang mereka jatuh pingsan seperti orang yang gugur di lapangan-lapangan kota, ketika menghembuskan nafas di pangkuan ibunya. |

| 2:14 Thy prophets [05030] have seen [02372] (8804) vain [07723] and foolish things [08602] for thee: and they have not discovered [01540] (8765) thine iniquity [05771], to turn away [07725] (8687) thy captivity [07622] (8675) [07622]; but have seen [02372] (8799) for thee false [07723] burdens [04864] and causes of banishment [04065]. |
2:14 Nabi-nabimu melihat bagimu penglihatan yang dusta dan hampa. Mereka tidak menyatakan kesalahanmu, guna memulihkan engkau kembali. Mereka mengeluarkan bagimu ramalan-ramalan yang dusta dan menyesatkan. |

2:15 Sekalian orang yang lewat bertepuk tangan karena engkau. Mereka bersuit-suit dan menggelengkan kepalanya mengenai puteri Yerusalem: "Inikah kota yang disebut orang kota yang paling indah, kesukaan dunia semesta?" |

2:16 Terhadap engkau semua seterumu mengangakan mulutnya. Mereka bersuit-suit dan menggertakkan gigi: "Kami telah memusnahkannya!", kata mereka, "Nah, inilah harinya yang kami nanti-nantikan, kami mengalaminya, kami melihatnya!" |

2:17 TUHAN telah menjalankan yang dirancangkan-Nya, Ia melaksanakan yang difirmankan-Nya, yang diperintahkan-Nya dahulu kala; Ia merusak tanpa belas kasihan, Ia menjadikan si seteru senang atas kamu, Ia meninggikan tanduk lawan-lawanmu. |

2:18 Berteriaklah kepada Tuhan dengan nyaring, hai, puteri Sion, cucurkanlah air mata bagaikan sungai siang dan malam; janganlah kauberikan dirimu istirahat, janganlah matamu tenang! |

2:19 Bangunlah, mengeranglah pada malam hari, pada permulaan giliran jaga malam; curahkanlah isi hatimu bagaikan air di hadapan Tuhan, angkatlah tanganmu kepada-Nya demi hidup anak-anakmu, yang jatuh pingsan karena lapar di ujung-ujung jalan! |
| 2:20 Behold [07200] (8798), O LORD [03068], and consider [05027] (8685) to whom thou hast done [05953] (8782) this [03541]. 2:20 Lihatlah, TUHAN, dan tiliklah, kepada siapakah Engkau telah berbuat ini? Apakah perempuan harus makan anak kandungnya, anak-anak yang masih dibuai? Apakah dalam tempat kudus Tuhan harus dibunuh imam dan nabi? |
| 2:21 The young [05288] and the old [02205] lie [07901] (8804) on the ground [0776] in the streets [02351]: my virgins [01330] and my young men [0970] are fallen [05307] (8804) by the sword [02719]; thou hast slain [02026] (8804) {them} in the day [03117] of thine anger [0639]; thou hast killed [02873] (8804), {and} not pitied [02550] (8804). |
2:21 Terbaring di debu jalan pemuda dan orang tua; dara-daraku dan teruna-terunaku gugur oleh pedang; Engkau membunuh mereka tatkala Engkau murka, tanpa belas kasihan Engkau menyembelih mereka! |

2:22 Seolah-olah pada hari perayaan Engkau mengundang semua yang kutakuti dari sekeliling. Tatkala TUHAN murka tak ada seorang yang luput atau selamat. Mereka yang kubuai dan kubesarkan dibinasakan seteruku. |
