| 37:1. <<[A Psalm] of David.>> Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. |
37:1. Dari Daud. Jangan marah karena orang yang berbuat jahat, jangan iri hati kepada orang yang berbuat curang; |
| 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. |
37:2 sebab mereka segera lisut seperti rumput dan layu seperti tumbuh-tumbuhan hijau. |
| 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. |
37:3 Percayalah kepada TUHAN dan lakukanlah yang baik, diamlah di negeri dan berlakulah setia, |
| 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. |
37:4 dan bergembiralah karena TUHAN; maka Ia akan memberikan kepadamu apa yang diinginkan hatimu. |
| 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring [it] to pass. |
37:5 Serahkanlah hidupmu kepada TUHAN dan percayalah kepada-Nya, dan Ia akan bertindak; |
| 37:6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. |
37:6 Ia akan memunculkan kebenaranmu seperti terang, dan hakmu seperti siang. |
| 37:7. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
37:7. Berdiam dirilah di hadapan TUHAN dan nantikanlah Dia; jangan marah karena orang yang berhasil dalam hidupnya, karena orang yang melakukan tipu daya. |
| 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. |
37:8 Berhentilah marah dan tinggalkanlah panas hati itu, jangan marah, itu hanya membawa kepada kejahatan. |
| 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. |
37:9 Sebab orang-orang yang berbuat jahat akan dilenyapkan, tetapi orang-orang yang menanti-nantikan TUHAN akan mewarisi negeri. |
| 37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it [shall] not [be]. |
37:10 Karena sedikit waktu lagi, maka lenyaplah orang fasik; jika engkau memperhatikan tempatnya, maka ia sudah tidak ada lagi. |
| 37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. |
37:11 Tetapi orang-orang yang rendah hati akan mewarisi negeri dan bergembira karena kesejahteraan yang berlimpah-limpah. |
| 37:12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. |
37:12 Orang fasik merencanakan kejahatan terhadap orang benar dan menggertakkan giginya terhadap dia; |
| 37:13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. |
37:13 Tuhan menertawakan orang fasik itu, sebab Ia melihat bahwa harinya sudah dekat. |
| 37:14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay such as be of upright conversation. |
37:14 Orang-orang fasik menghunus pedang dan melentur busur mereka untuk merobohkan orang-orang sengsara dan orang-orang miskin, untuk membunuh orang-orang yang hidup jujur; |
| 37:15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. |
37:15 tetapi pedang mereka akan menikam dada mereka sendiri, dan busur mereka akan dipatahkan. |
| 37:16 A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked. |
37:16 Lebih baik yang sedikit pada orang benar dari pada yang berlimpah-limpah pada orang fasik; |
| 37:17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. |
37:17 sebab lengan orang-orang fasik dipatahkan, tetapi TUHAN menopang orang-orang benar. |
| 37:18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. |
37:18 TUHAN mengetahui hari-hari orang yang saleh, dan milik pusaka mereka akan tetap selama-lamanya; |
| 37:19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. |
37:19 mereka tidak akan mendapat malu pada waktu kecelakaan, dan mereka akan menjadi kenyang pada hari-hari kelaparan. |
| 37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD [shall be] as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. |
37:20 Sesungguhnya, orang-orang fasik akan binasa; musuh TUHAN seperti keindahan padang rumput: mereka habis lenyap, habis lenyap bagaikan asap. |
| 37:21. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth. |
37:21. Orang fasik meminjam dan tidak membayar kembali, tetapi orang benar adalah pengasih dan pemurah. |
| 37:22 For [such as be] blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and [they that be] cursed of him shall be cut off. |
37:22 Sesungguhnya, orang-orang yang diberkati-Nya akan mewarisi negeri, tetapi orang-orang yang dikutuki-Nya akan dilenyapkan. |
| 37:23 The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. |
37:23 TUHAN menetapkan langkah-langkah orang yang hidupnya berkenan kepada-Nya; |
| 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand. |
37:24 apabila ia jatuh, tidaklah sampai tergeletak, sebab TUHAN menopang tangannya. |
| 37:25 I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. |
37:25 Dahulu aku muda, sekarang telah menjadi tua, tetapi tidak pernah kulihat orang benar ditinggalkan, atau anak cucunya meminta-minta roti; |
| 37:26 [He is] ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed [is] blessed. |
37:26 tiap hari ia menaruh belas kasihan dan memberi pinjaman, dan anak cucunya menjadi berkat. |
| 37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. |
37:27 Jauhilah yang jahat dan lakukanlah yang baik, maka engkau akan tetap tinggal untuk selama-lamanya; |
| 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. |
37:28 sebab TUHAN mencintai hukum, dan Ia tidak meninggalkan orang-orang yang dikasihi-Nya. Sampai selama-lamanya mereka akan terpelihara, tetapi anak cucu orang-orang fasik akan dilenyapkan. |
| 37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever. |
37:29 Orang-orang benar akan mewarisi negeri dan tinggal di sana senantiasa. |
| 37:30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. |
37:30 Mulut orang benar mengucapkan hikmat, dan lidahnya mengatakan hukum; |
| 37:31 The law of his God [is] in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. |
37:31 Taurat Allahnya ada di dalam hatinya, langkah-langkahnya tidak goyah. |
| 37:32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. |
37:32 Orang fasik mengintai orang benar dan berikhtiar membunuhnya; |
| 37:33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. |
37:33 TUHAN tidak menyerahkan orang benar itu ke dalam tangannya, Ia tidak membiarkannya dinyatakan fasik pada waktu diadili. |
| 37:34. Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see [it]. |
37:34. Nantikanlah TUHAN dan tetap ikutilah jalan-Nya, maka Ia akan mengangkat engkau untuk mewarisi negeri, dan engkau akan melihat orang-orang fasik dilenyapkan. |
| 37:35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. |
37:35 Aku melihat seorang fasik yang gagah sombong, yang tumbuh mekar seperti pohon aras Libanon; |
| 37:36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he [was] not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. |
37:36 ketika aku lewat, lenyaplah ia, aku mencarinya, tetapi tidak ditemui. |
| 37:37 Mark the perfect [man], and behold the upright: for the end of [that] man [is] peace. |
37:37 Perhatikanlah orang yang tulus dan lihatlah kepada orang yang jujur, sebab pada orang yang suka damai akan ada masa depan; |
| 37:38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. |
37:38 tetapi pendurhaka-pendurhaka akan dibinasakan bersama-sama, dan masa depan orang-orang fasik akan dilenyapkan. |
| 37:39 But the salvation of the righteous [is] of the LORD: [he is] their strength in the time of trouble. |
37:39 Orang-orang benar diselamatkan oleh TUHAN; Ia adalah tempat perlindungan mereka pada waktu kesesakan; |
| 37:40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. |
37:40 TUHAN menolong mereka dan meluputkan mereka, Ia meluputkan mereka dari tangan orang-orang fasik dan menyelamatkan mereka, sebab mereka berlindung pada-Nya. |
