Ayat-ayat: 4:1, 4:2, 4:3, 4:4, 4:5, 4:6, 4:7, 4:8, 4:9, 4:10, 4:11, 4:12, 4:13, 4:14, 4:15, 4:16, 4:17, 4:18, 4:19, 4:20, 4:21.
4:1. Then Eliphaz [0464] the Temanite [08489] answered [06030] (8799) and said [0559] (8799), 4:1. Maka berbicaralah Elifas, orang Teman:
4:2 {If} we assay [05254] (8765) to commune [01697] with thee, wilt thou be grieved [03811] (8799)? but who can [03201] (8799) withhold [06113] (8800) himself from speaking [04405]? 4:2 "Kesalkah engkau, bila orang mencoba berbicara kepadamu? Tetapi siapakah dapat tetap menutup mulutnya?
4:3 Behold, thou hast instructed [03256] (8765) many [07227], and thou hast strengthened [02388] (8762) the weak [07504] hands [03027]. 4:3 Sesungguhnya, engkau telah mengajar banyak orang, dan tangan yang lemah telah engkau kuatkan;
4:4 Thy words [04405] have upholden [06965] (8686) him that was falling [03782] (8802), and thou hast strengthened [0553] (8762) the feeble [03766] (8802) knees [01290]. 4:4 orang yang jatuh telah dibangunkan oleh kata-katamu, dan lutut yang lemas telah kaukokohkan;
4:5 But now it is come [0935] (8799) upon thee, and thou faintest [03811] (8799); it toucheth [05060] (8799) thee, and thou art troubled [0926] (8735). 4:5 tetapi sekarang, dirimu yang tertimpa, dan engkau kesal, dirimu terkena, dan engkau terkejut.
4:6 {Is} not {this} thy fear [03374], thy confidence [03690], thy hope [08615], and the uprightness [08537] of thy ways [01870]? 4:6 Bukankah takutmu akan Allah yang menjadi sandaranmu, dan kesalehan hidupmu menjadi pengharapanmu?
4:7. Remember [02142] (8798), I pray thee, who {ever} perished [006] (8804), being innocent [05355]? or where [0375] were the righteous [03477] cut off [03582] (8738)? 4:7. Camkanlah ini: siapa binasa dengan tidak bersalah dan di manakah orang yang jujur dipunahkan?
4:8 Even as I have seen [07200] (8804), they that plow [02790] (8802) iniquity [0205], and sow [02232] (8802) wickedness [05999], reap [07114] (8799) the same. 4:8 Yang telah kulihat ialah bahwa orang yang membajak kejahatan dan menabur kesusahan, ia menuainya juga.
4:9 By the blast [05397] of God [0433] they perish [006] (8799), and by the breath [07307] of his nostrils [0639] are they consumed [03615] (8799). 4:9 Mereka binasa oleh nafas Allah, dan lenyap oleh hembusan hidung-Nya.
4:10 The roaring [07581] of the lion [0738], and the voice [06963] of the fierce lion [07826], and the teeth [08127] of the young lions [03715], are broken [05421] (8738). 4:10 Singa mengaum, singa meraung--patahlah gigi singa-singa muda.
4:11 The old lion [03918] perisheth [006] (8802) for lack [01097] of prey [02964], and the stout lion's [03833] whelps [01121] are scattered abroad [06504] (8691). 4:11 Singa binasa karena kekurangan mangsa, dan anak-anak singa betina bercerai-berai.
4:12. Now a thing [01697] was secretly brought [01589] (8792) to me, and mine ear [0241] received [03947] (8799) a little [08102] thereof. 4:12. Suatu perkataan telah disampaikan kepadaku dengan diam-diam dan telingaku menangkap bisikannya,
4:13 In thoughts [05587] from the visions [02384] of the night [03915], when deep sleep [08639] falleth [05307] (8800) on men [0582], 4:13 waktu bermenung oleh sebab khayal malam, ketika tidur nyenyak menghinggapi orang.
4:14 Fear [06343] came [07122] (8804) upon me, and trembling [07461], which made all [07230] my bones [06106] to shake [06342] (8689). 4:14 Aku terkejut dan gentar, sehingga tulang-tulangku gemetar.
4:15 Then a spirit [07307] passed [02498] (8799) before my face [06440]; the hair [08185] of my flesh [01320] stood up [05568] (8762): 4:15 Suatu roh melewati aku, tegaklah bulu romaku.
4:16 It stood still [05975] (8799), but I could not discern [05234] (8686) the form [04758] thereof: an image [08544] {was} before mine eyes [05869], {there was} silence [01827], and I heard [08085] (8799) a voice [06963], {saying}, 4:16 Ia berhenti, tetapi rupanya tidak dapat kukenal. Suatu sosok ada di depan mataku, suara berbisik-bisik kudengar:
4:17 Shall mortal man [0582] be more just [06663] (8799) than God [0433]? shall a man [01397] be more pure [02891] (8799) than his maker [06213] (8802)? 4:17 Mungkinkah seorang manusia benar di hadapan Allah, mungkinkah seseorang tahir di hadapan Penciptanya?
4:18 Behold, he put no trust [0539] (8686) in his servants [05650]; and his angels [04397] he charged [07760] (8799) with folly [08417]: 4:18 Sesungguhnya, hamba-hamba-Nya tidak dipercayai-Nya, malaikat-malaikat-Nyap didapati-Nya tersesat,
4:19 How much less [0637] {in} them that dwell [07931] (8802) in houses [01004] of clay [02563], whose foundation [03247] {is} in the dust [06083], {which} are crushed [01792] (8762) before [06440] the moth [06211]? 4:19 lebih-lebih lagi mereka yang diam dalam pondok tanah liat, yang dasarnya dalam debu, yang mati terpijat seperti gegat.
4:20 They are destroyed [03807] (8714) from morning [01242] to evening [06153]: they perish [006] (8799) for ever [05331] without any regarding [07760] (8688) {it}. 4:20 Di antara pagi dan petang mereka dihancurkan, dan tanpa dihiraukan mereka binasa untuk selama-lamanya.
4:21 Doth not their excellency [03499] {which is} in them go away [05265] (8738)? they die [04191] (8799), even without wisdom [02451]. 4:21 Bukankah kemah mereka dicabut? Mereka mati, tetapi tanpa hikmat.
