22:1. Maka Elifas, orang Teman, menjawab: |
| 22:2 Can a man [01397] be profitable [05532] (8799) unto God [0410], as [03588] he that is wise [07919] (8688) may be profitable [05532] (8799) unto himself? |
22:2 "Apakah manusia berguna bagi Allah? Tidak, orang yang berakal budi hanya berguna bagi dirinya sendiri. |
| 22:3 {Is it} any pleasure [02656] to the Almighty [07706], that thou art righteous [06663] (8799)? or {is it} gain [01215] {to him}, that thou makest thy ways [01870] perfect [08552] (8686)? |
22:3 Apakah ada manfaatnya bagi Yang Mahakuasa, kalau engkau benar, atau keuntungannya, kalau engkau hidup saleh? |
| 22:4 Will he reprove [03198] (8686) thee for fear [03374] of thee? will he enter [0935] (8799) with thee into judgment [04941]? |
22:4 Apakah karena takutmu akan Allah, maka engkau dihukum-Nya, dan dibawa-Nya ke pengadilan? |
| 22:5. {Is} not thy wickedness [07451] great [07227]? and thine iniquities [05771] infinite [07093]? |
22:5. Bukankah kejahatanmu besar dan kesalahanmu tidak berkesudahan? |
| 22:6 For thou hast taken a pledge [02254] (8799) from thy brother [0251] for nought [02600], and stripped [06584] (8686) the naked [06174] of their clothing [0899]. |
22:6 Karena dengan sewenang-wenang engkau menerima gadai dari saudara-saudaramu dan merampas pakaian orang-orang yang melarat; |
| 22:7 Thou hast not given water [04325] to the weary [05889] to drink [08248] (8686), and thou hast withholden [04513] (8799) bread [03899] from the hungry [07457]. |
22:7 orang yang kehausan tidak kauberi minum air, dan orang yang kelaparan tidak kauberi makan, |
| 22:8 But {as for} the mighty [02220] man [0376], he had the earth [0776]; and the honourable man [05375] (8803) [06440] dwelt [03427] (8799) in it. |
22:8 tetapi orang yang kuat, dialah yang memiliki tanah, dan orang yang disegani, dialah yang mendudukinya. |
| 22:9 Thou hast sent [07971] (8765) widows [0490] away empty [07387], and the arms [02220] of the fatherless [03490] have been broken [01792] (8792). |
22:9 Janda-janda kausuruh pergi dengan tangan hampa, dan lengan yatim piatu kauremukkan. |
| 22:10 Therefore snares [06341] {are} round about [05439] thee, and sudden [06597] fear [06343] troubleth [0926] (8762) thee; |
22:10 Itulah sebabnya engkau dikelilingi perangkap, dan dikejutkan oleh kedahsyatan dengan tiba-tiba. |
| 22:11 Or darkness [02822], {that} thou canst not see [07200] (8799); and abundance [08229] of waters [04325] cover [03680] (8762) thee. |
22:11 Terangmu menjadi gelap, sehingga engkau tidak dapat melihat dan banjir meliputi engkau. |
| 22:12 {Is} not God [0433] in the height [01363] of heaven [08064]? and behold [07200] (8798) the height [07218] of the stars [03556], how high [07311] (8804) they are! |
22:12 Bukankah Allah bersemayam di langit yang tinggi? Lihatlah bintang-bintang yang tertinggi, betapa tingginya! |
| 22:13 And thou sayest [0559] (8804), How doth God [0410] know [03045] (8804)? can he judge [08199] (8799) through the dark cloud [06205]? |
22:13 Tetapi pikirmu: Tahu apa Allah? Dapatkah Ia mengadili dari balik awan-awan yang gelap? |
| 22:14 Thick clouds [05645] {are} a covering [05643] to him, that he seeth [07200] (8799) not; and he walketh [01980] (8691) in the circuit [02329] of heaven [08064]. |
22:14 Awan meliputi Dia, sehingga Ia tidak dapat melihat; Ia berjalan-jalan sepanjang lingkaran langit! |
| 22:15. Hast thou marked [08104] (8799) the old [05769] way [0734] which wicked [0205] men [04962] have trodden [01869] (8804)? |
22:15. Apakah engkau mau tetap mengikuti jalan lama, yang dilalui orang-orang jahat, |
| 22:16 Which were cut down [07059] (8795) out of time [06256], whose foundation [03247] was overflown [03332] (8714) with a flood [05104]: |
22:16 mereka yang telah direnggut sebelum saatnya, yang alasnya dihanyutkan sungai; |
| 22:17 Which said [0559] (8802) unto God [0410], Depart [05493] (8798) from us: and what can the Almighty [07706] do [06466] (8799) for them? |
22:17 mereka yang berkata kepada Allah: Pergilah dari pada kami! dan: Yang Mahakuasa dapat berbuat apa terhadap kami? |
| 22:18 Yet he filled [04390] (8765) their houses [01004] with good [02896] {things}: but the counsel [06098] of the wicked [07563] is far [07368] (8804) from me. |
22:18 Namun Dialah juga yang memenuhi rumah mereka dengan segala yang baik--tetapi rancangan orang fasik adalah jauh dari padaku. |
| 22:19 The righteous [06662] see [07200] (8799) {it}, and are glad [08055] (8799): and the innocent [05355] laugh them to scorn [03932] (8799). |
22:19 Hal itu dilihat oleh orang benar dan mereka bersukaria; orang yang tidak bersalah mengolok-olok mereka: |
| 22:20 Whereas [0518] our substance [07009] is not cut down [03582] (8738), but the remnant [03499] of them the fire [0784] consumeth [0398] (8804). |
22:20 Sungguh, lawan kami telah dilenyapkan, dan peninggalan mereka telah habis dimakan api. |
| 22:21. Acquaint [05532] (8685) now thyself with him, and be at peace [07999] (8798): thereby good [02896] shall come [0935] (8799) unto thee. |
22:21. Berlakulah ramah terhadap Dia, supaya engkau tenteram; dengan demikian engkau memperoleh keuntungan. |
| 22:22 Receive [03947] (8798), I pray thee, the law [08451] from his mouth [06310], and lay up [07760] (8798) his words [0561] in thine heart [03824]. |
22:22 Terimalah apa yang diajarkan mulut-Nya, dan taruhlah firman-Nya dalam hatimu. |
| 22:23 If thou return [07725] (8799) to the Almighty [07706], thou shalt be built up [01129] (8735), thou shalt put away [07368] (0) iniquity [05766] far [07368] (8686) from thy tabernacles [0168]. |
22:23 Apabila engkau bertobat kepada Yang Mahakuasa, dan merendahkan diri; apabila engkau menjauhkan kecurangan dari dalam kemahmu, |
| 22:24 Then shalt thou lay up [07896] (8800) gold [01220] as [05921] dust [06083], and the {gold} of Ophir [0211] as the stones [06697] of the brooks [05158]. |
22:24 membuang biji emas ke dalam debu, emas Ofir ke tengah batu-batu sungai, |
| 22:25 Yea, the Almighty [07706] shall be thy defence [01220], and thou shalt have plenty [08443] of silver [03701]. |
22:25 dan apabila Yang Mahakuasa menjadi timbunan emasmu, dan kekayaan perakmu, |
| 22:26 For then shalt thou have thy delight [06026] (8691) in the Almighty [07706], and shalt lift up [05375] (8799) thy face [06440] unto God [0433]. |
22:26 maka sungguh-sungguh engkau akan bersenang-senang karena Yang Mahakuasa, dan akan menengadah kepada Allah. |
| 22:27 Thou shalt make thy prayer [06279] (8686) unto him, and he shall hear [08085] (8799) thee, and thou shalt pay [07999] (8762) thy vows [05088]. |
22:27 Jikalau engkau berdoa kepada-Nya, Ia akan mengabulkan doamu, dan engkau akan membayar nazarmu. |
| 22:28 Thou shalt also decree [01504] (8799) a thing [0562], and it shall be established [06965] (8799) unto thee: and the light [0216] shall shine [05050] (8804) upon thy ways [01870]. |
22:28 Apabila engkau memutuskan berbuat sesuatu, maka akan tercapai maksudmu, dan cahaya terang menyinari jalan-jalanmu. |
| 22:29 When {men} are cast down [08213] (8689), then thou shalt say [0559] (8799), {There is} lifting up [01466]; and he shall save [03467] (8686) the humble [07807] person [05869]. |
22:29 Karena Allah merendahkan orang yang angkuh tetapi menyelamatkan orang yang menundukkan kepala! |
| 22:30 He shall deliver [04422] (8762) the island [0336] of the innocent [05355]: and it is delivered [04422] (8738) by the pureness [01252] of thine hands [03709]. |
22:30 Orang yang tidak bersalah diluputkan-Nya: engkau luput karena kebersihan tanganmu." |
