| 28:1. Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold [where] they fine [it]. |
28:1. "Memang ada tempat orang menambang perak dan tempat orang melimbang emas; |
| 28:2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass [is] molten [out of] the stone. |
28:2 besi digali dari dalam tanah, dan dari batu dilelehkan tembaga. |
| 28:3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death. |
28:3 Orang menyudahi kegelapan, dan batu diselidikinya sampai sedalam-dalamnya, di dalam kekelaman dan kelam pekat. |
| 28:4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; [even the waters] forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men. |
28:4 Orang menggali tambang jauh dari tempat kediaman manusia, mereka dilupakan oleh orang-orang yang berjalan di atas, mereka melayang-layang jauh dari manusia. |
| 28:5 [As for] the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire. |
28:5 Tanah yang menghasilkan pangan, dibawahnya dibongkar-bangkir seperti oleh api. |
| 28:6 The stones of it [are] the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold. |
28:6 Batunya adalah tempat menemukan lazurit yang mengandung emas urai. |
| 28:7 [There is] a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: |
28:7 Jalan ke sana tidak dikenal seekor burung buaspun, dan mata elang tidak melihatnya; |
| 28:8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it. |
28:8 binatang yang ganas tidak menginjakkan kakinya di sana dan singa tidak melangkah melaluinya. |
| 28:9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots. |
28:9 Manusia melekatkan tangannya pada batu yang keras, ia membongkar-bangkir gunung-gunung sampai pada akar-akarnya; |
| 28:10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. |
28:10 di dalam gunung batu ia menggali terowongan, dan matanya melihat segala sesuatu yang berharga; |
| 28:11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and [the thing that is] hid bringeth he forth to light. |
28:11 air sungai yang merembes dibendungnya, dan apa yang tersembunyi dibawanya ke tempat terang. |
| 28:12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where [is] the place of understanding? |
28:12 Tetapi di mana hikmat dapat diperoleh, di mana tempat akal budi? |
| 28:13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. |
28:13 Jalan ke sana tidak diketahui manusia, dan tidak didapati di negeri orang hidup. |
| 28:14. The depth saith, It [is] not in me: and the sea saith, [It is] not with me. |
28:14. Kata samudera raya: Ia tidak terdapat di dalamku, dan kata laut: Ia tidak ada padaku. |
| 28:15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed [for] the price thereof. |
28:15 Untuk gantinya tidak dapat diberikan emas murni, dan harganya tidak dapat ditimbang dengan perak. |
| 28:16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. |
28:16 Ia tidak dapat dinilai dengan emas Ofir, ataupun dengan permata krisopras yang mahal atau dengan permata lazurit; |
| 28:17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it [shall not be for] jewels of fine gold. |
28:17 tidak dapat diimbangi oleh emas, atau kaca, ataupun ditukar dengan permata dari emas tua. |
| 28:18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom [is] above rubies. |
28:18 Baik gewang, baik hablur, tidak terhitung lagi; memiliki hikmat adalah lebih baik dari pada mutiara. |
| 28:19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold. |
28:19 Permata krisolit Etiopia tidak dapat mengimbanginya, ia tidak dapat dinilai dengan emas murni. |
| 28:20. Whence then cometh wisdom? and where [is] the place of understanding? |
28:20. Hikmat itu, dari manakah datangnya, atau akal budi, di manakah tempatnya? |
| 28:21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air. |
28:21 Ia terlindung dari mata segala yang hidup, bahkan tersembunyi bagi burung di udara. |
| 28:22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears. |
28:22 Kebinasaan dan maut berkata: Hanya desas-desusnya yang sampai ke telinga kami. |
| 28:23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. |
28:23 Allah mengetahui jalan ke sana, Ia juga mengenal tempat kediamannya. |
| 28:24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, [and] seeth under the whole heaven; |
28:24 Karena Ia memandang sampai ke ujung-ujung bumi, dan melihat segala sesuatu yang ada di kolong langit. |
| 28:25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. |
28:25 Ketika Ia menetapkan kekuatan angin, dan mengatur banyaknya air, |
| 28:26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: |
28:26 ketika Ia membuat ketetapan bagi hujan, dan jalan bagi kilat guruh, |
| 28:27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. |
28:27 ketika itulah Ia melihat hikmat, lalu memberitakannya, menetapkannya, bahkan menyelidikinya; |
| 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that [is] wisdom; and to depart from evil [is] understanding. |
28:28 tetapi kepada manusia Ia berfirman: Sesungguhnya, takut akan Tuhan, itulah hikmat, dan menjauhi kejahatan itulah akal budi." |
