| 14:2. He that walketh [01980] (8802) in his uprightness [03476] feareth [03373] the LORD [03068]: but {he that is} perverse [03868] (8737) in his ways [01870] despiseth [0959] (8802) him. | 14:2. Siapa berjalan dengan jujur, takut akan TUHAN, tetapi orang yang sesat jalannya, menghina Dia. |
| 14:3. In the mouth [06310] of the foolish [0191] {is} a rod [02415] of pride [01346]: but the lips [08193] of the wise [02450] shall preserve [08104] (8799) them. | 14:3. Di dalam mulut orang bodoh ada rotan untuk punggungnya, tetapi orang bijak dipelihara oleh bibirnya. |
| 14:4. Where no oxen [0504] {are}, the crib [018] {is} clean [01249]: but much [07230] increase [08393] {is} by the strength [03581] of the ox [07794]. | 14:4. Kalau tidak ada lembu, juga tidak ada gandum, tetapi dengan kekuatan sapi banyaklah hasil. |
| 14:5. A faithful [0529] witness [05707] will not lie [03577]: but a false [08267] witness [05707] will utter [06315] (8686) lies [03576] (8762). | 14:5. Saksi yang setia tidak berbohong, tetapi siapa menyembur-nyemburkan kebohongan, adalah saksi dusta. |

Si pencemooh mencari hikmat, tetapi sia-sia, sedangkan bagi orang berpengertian, pengetahuan mudah diperoleh. |
| 14:7. Go [03212] (8798) from the presence [05048] of a foolish [03684] man [0376], when thou perceivest [03045] (8804) not {in him} the lips [08193] of knowledge [01847]. | 14:7. Jauhilah orang bebal, karena pengetahuan tidak kaudapati dari bibirnya. |
| 14:8. The wisdom [02451] of the prudent [06175] {is} to understand [0995] (8687) his way [01870]: but the folly [0200] of fools [03684] {is} deceit [04820]. | 14:8. Mengerti jalannya sendiri adalah hikmat orang cerdik, tetapi orang bebal ditipu oleh kebodohannya. |

| 14:10. The heart [03820] knoweth [03045] (8802) his own [05315] bitterness [04787]; and a stranger [02114] (8801) doth not intermeddle [06148] (8691) with his joy [08057]. | 14:10. Hati mengenal kepedihannya sendiri, dan orang lain tidak dapat turut merasakan kesenangannya. |
| 14:11. The house [01004] of the wicked [07563] shall be overthrown [08045] (8735): but the tabernacle [0168] of the upright [03477] shall flourish [06524] (8686). | 14:11. Rumah orang fasik akan musnah, tetapi kemah orang jujur akan mekar. |
| 14:12. There is [03426] a way [01870] which seemeth right [03477] unto [06440] a man [0376], but the end [0319] thereof {are} the ways [01870] of death [04194]. | 14:12. Ada jalan yang disangka orang lurus, tetapi ujungnya menuju maut. |
| 14:13. Even in laughter [07814] the heart [03820] is sorrowful [03510] (8799); and the end [0319] of that mirth [08057] {is} heaviness [08424]. | 14:13. Di dalam tertawapun hati dapat merana, dan kesukaan dapat berakhir dengan kedukaan. |
| 14:14. The backslider [05472] (8803) in heart [03820] shall be filled [07646] (8799) with his own ways [01870]: and a good [02896] man [0376] {shall be satisfied} from himself. | 14:14. Orang yang murtad hatinya menjadi kenyang dengan jalannya, dan orang yang baik dengan apa yang ada padanya. |
| 14:15. The simple [06612] believeth [0539] (8686) every word [01697]: but the prudent [06175] {man} looketh well [0995] (8799) to his going [0838]. | 14:15. Orang yang tak berpengalaman percaya kepada setiap perkataan, tetapi orang yang bijak memperhatikan langkahnya. |
| 14:16. A wise [02450] {man} feareth [03373], and departeth [05493] (8802) from evil [07451]: but the fool [03684] rageth [05674] (8693), and is confident [0982] (8802). | 14:16. Orang bijak berhati-hati dan menjauhi kejahatan, tetapi orang bebal melampiaskan nafsunya dan merasa aman. |
| 14:17. {He that is} soon [07116] angry [0639] dealeth [06213] (8799) foolishly [0200]: and a man [0376] of wicked devices [04209] is hated [08130] (8735). | 14:17. Siapa lekas naik darah, berlaku bodoh, tetapi orang yang bijaksana, bersabar. |

| 14:19. The evil [07451] bow [07817] (8804) before [06440] the good [02896]; and the wicked [07563] at the gates [08179] of the righteous [06662]. | 14:19. Orang jahat tunduk di dekat orang baik, orang fasik di depan pintu gerbang orang benar. |
| 14:20. The poor [07326] (8802) is hated [08130] (8735) even of his own neighbour [07453]: but the rich [06223] {hath} many [07227] friends [0157] (8802). | 14:20. Juga oleh temannya orang miskin itu dibenci, tetapi sahabat orang kaya itu banyak. |

Siapa menghina sesamanya berbuat dosa, tetapi berbahagialah orang yang menaruh belas kasihan kepada orang yang menderita. |

Tidak sesatkah orang yang merencanakan kejahatan? Tetapi yang merencanakan hal yang baik memperoleh kasih dan setia. |

| 14:25. A true [0571] witness [05707] delivereth [05337] (8688) souls [05315]: but a deceitful [04820] {witness} speaketh [06315] (8686) lies [03577]. | 14:25. Saksi yang setia menyelamatkan hidup, tetapi siapa menyembur-nyemburkan kebohongan adalah pengkhianat. |

| 14:27 The fear [03374] of the LORD [03068] {is} a fountain [04726] of life [02416], to depart [05493] (8800) from the snares [04170] of death [04194]. | 14:27 Takut akan TUHAN adalah sumber kehidupan sehingga orang terhindar dari jerat maut. |
| 14:28. In the multitude [07230] of people [05971] {is} the king's [04428] honour [01927]: but in the want [0657] of people [03816] {is} the destruction [04288] of the prince [07333]. | 14:28. Dalam besarnya jumlah rakyat terletak kemegahan raja, tetapi tanpa rakyat runtuhlah pemerintah. |
| 14:29. {He that is} slow [0750] to wrath [0639] {is} of great [07227] understanding [08394]: but {he that is} hasty [07116] of spirit [07307] exalteth [07311] (8688) folly [0200]. | 14:29. Orang yang sabar besar pengertiannya, tetapi siapa cepat marah membesarkan kebodohan. |

Hikmat tinggal di dalam hati orang yang berpengertian, tetapi tidak dikenal di dalam hati orang bebal. |
| 14:34. Righteousness [06666] exalteth [07311] (8787) a nation [01471]: but sin [02403] {is} a reproach [02617] to any people [03816]. | 14:34. Kebenaran meninggikan derajat bangsa, tetapi dosa adalah noda bangsa. |
